Mystery set #108
« on: December 12, 2012, 07:38:25 PM »
Two photos of a ‘D’- shaped tray in pressed frosted uranium glass, 33cm x 16.5cm x 2.5cm deep. Two small side handles, and the base of the tray has a transverse panel of parallel ridges which is flanked by curved ribs spreading from the centre of the curved side of the tray.

Pamela shows a set in amber with a similar tray as ‘unknown’ at
http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/toilettenservice/07024.jpg

Does anyone have photos of more pieces from this set in uranium green, or any other colour than amber, to share, please ?

Any suggestions as to ID?

More pieces, this time in an unfrosted green uranium set.

Two sizes of lidded pot (whereas Pamela's set has two pots of the same size), so perhaps a complete set has 3 pots (2 of one size and one of another). Pamela's amber set is unfrosted too.

Art Deco Uranium Candle Holder
« Reply #2 on: November 26, 2013, 09:52:01 PM »
Height 11.3cm

Can anyone help me identify this well designed little candle holder. They were two, but unfortunately one of them got damaged :( .   I believe that this is part of trinket set.   I've looked at many designs, but unable to relate this to any manufacturer or period.  Your help is very much appreciated.  I'm hoping someone can send me pictures of what a complete set would look like.   ::)

Here are some photos of a complete (as far as I am aware) set in green uranium glass and another in pink glass.

(Permission for the re-use of the images of the green uranium set on the GMB granted by John Watson, and of the pink set by Deborah simpson).

Some sets have already been shown for ID in the Glass Trinket Sets section of the GMB, and I will try and find the link to the relevant topic shortly.

Fred.

Oh wow!  Thanks ever so much Fred.   That is,......... for your time and effort and for those concerned who have allowed you to post these pictures.   Ever so grateful :).

Whilst out today I went into the shop where I purchased the candle holder from, only because of your pictures and info.   I made enquiries to find out if there where any green glass that had not been put out on the shop floor. The shop assistant was very helpful and brought out an array of green glass to my surprise.  Low and behold, there in front of me was the same trinket tray and other uranium glass that didn't match.  Unfortunately some of the items where damaged.  I could not resist purchasing one of the damaged pieces though, very decorative indeed!    She could not find the other pieces though,  that would match my set, but she assured me,  that if they were anymore, she would put them one side until my next visit.  I will have to keep my fingers crossed  ;D.   During my initial searches that included google, I did not come across any that matched the sets you have displayed in your post and link.  I still would be interested to know the origin and maker of this trinket set.   The geometric design is what I find fascinating.  I have attached a picture of the trinket tray.  just to also mention, there appears to be a slight uncertainty with regards to what the set should consist of.  ::).  If the set is, as shown in your pics. and link, all I will need to find is the bowls and small dish.

Although I have seen several sets in green uranium glass, this is the only set I have ever seen in pink (unfrosted) glass.

(Permission for the re-use of these images on the GMB granted by Deborah Simpson)

Again, only two lidded pots of different sizes.

Fred.
