I'd like to thank all of those who are helping me with this post and those who already have, with thoughtful opinions and proper guidance.

I have just today, located a very tiny moulded mark, bottom left of the base. M MODEL FRANCE   I know little of this maker, however I "THINK" Maurice Model produced figurines/mascots (and lamps) at Verdun close to Nancy?  Anyway, this certainly rules out Cire Perdue. Cheers all, John ;)

John I know what you mean about the tiny MMODEL marking. I have a pair of MMODEL pigeons? that were used as what we in the U.S. would call hood ornaments...guess in Europe they were called mascots & it was close to two years before I happened to notice the mark...originally thought it was a tiny bit of damage.  Ken

Yes Ken, how on Earth I overlooked this is beyond me, it is a very tiny mark, but I should have seen it!!! Information about M Model is fairly scarce, though I do know that most of his glass was indeed exported
to USA... particularly his car hood/mascots.

They're a fine pair of pigeons! Have you tried to breed them?  :)

I have seen a hood mascot in the style of an Art Deco ram:

by M Model and a few lamp shades, but that is all.  :-\

Many thanks to you, J.

... It's bad light here, but here are couple of more "fuzzy" pics of the lamp.
The Windsor vase by Walther & Sohne, and the Bagly Grantham is to show the scale.
The glass is 1 inch thick... 16 inches high.

Been thinking Ken....   If you were to contact the link above (see Ram Hood Ornament) they should be able to supply you with mounts for your pigeons. Not only will they look even more stunning, but the mounts also help to counter-balance them and so avoid them toppling over. A thought perhaps? J.

Thanks John...might try that. Frank provided a few examples on-line when I first got them & evidently MMODEL produced a wide variety of figures for various purposes. URLs below. Just wish there was more info on the manufacturer. I will have to say that your lamp is the best piece I've seen from MMODEL. Ken

Thanks to you all.. You have all been most observent, appreciative and helpful to me with this piece. The Antiques Roadshow.. ZZZZzzz have now approached me about the lamp. I 'spose I should await their findings... I did not think that it would cause such a sensation, as lovely as it is...  as for me, I shall just be happy to establish more aobout its maker... "M. Model"   John.

Good luck to them in tracing Model, Hartmann source was Grover. Skeeley makes no mention... must be in French trade journal somewhere. On-line might be worth chasing again... my earlier efforts http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,36935.msg201428.html#msg201428

Might be worth contacting local museum as they now include Model and give a c1930-1940 date. http://www.verdun.fr/Vie-quotidienne/Culture-Sport-Loisirs/Musee-de-la-Princerie/Nouvelles-acquisitions/Du-Verre-Art-Deco-au-Musee
