Pressed glass cream jug -holly pattern with torn handle

This jug is 5 1/2" tall. There is a blurry mark on the inside bottom that looks like a British registration mark. I found this jug in milk glass in an auction catalog. It was attributed to Boston and Sandwich but I know that is not correct. So now I've said what it is not, does anyone know what it is? Thanks for looking.

I think its most likely to be Henry Greener about 1885-90 , its difficult to see the mark in the second picture but should be a crest of a demi lion holding a battleaxe in both paws.

an attractive jug, but I really can't see where the handle is torn
think I can just about make out the rampant lion in the second pic., athough there were two Greener trademarks, of which I believe only the later one includes the axe. The first mark I think has a star in the lion's paws.
I've had a look through some of the books on pressed glass, but can't see this particular design, unfortunately.

Thanks for the responses. The mark is inside the jug on the bottom curve, and impossible for me to photograph better. I think it is a British registration mark. Some US folks suggested Davidson, but I can't find an example of this pattern in Davidson or Greener or elsewhere.

Hello
Can you make out the letters/numbers in each corner of the registry diamond?

No, Sid, just not enough definition. I finally found one in Bob Batty's pressed glass book. It is in black and sadly not attributed to anyone. He named the pattern Ilex.

Paul — "torn" is Irish for "thorn".
Roy — Agreed, it looks very Greener.
Sid — I can't recall seeing this jug before, and I've checked the few margin notes in my working copy of Thompson — nothing there. Could it be a reused plunger? Anything is possible if part of a mould was mislaid or damaged.

Actually, "torn" is Dell for a sticky key on a laptop.
Thanks for all the help.

and Ilex is the generic name for the hollies. I have looked on Pamela's site, but no match that I can see.
