Topic: German(?) brown bell-shape vase with powders and bubbles...

Not really a clue about the maker of this vase (though it does look very German 1960s/70s).

Heavy piece, 14 cm high, 16 cm wide, brown fading to colourless towards the base; lower part with grey powders and bubbles, base with polished pontil mark.

Several makers come to mind, like Ichendorf, Zwiesel, Peill,...

Any help highly appreciated as usual,

I checked very carefully, but couldn't find an etched mark on my vase...

I am far from sure I should rule out WMF

I just cannot recall seeing this type of decoration associated with them, but who knows with German glass.

The companies I mentioned above all did produce bubble/powder decorated pieces...
The Ichendorf vase in the link to the Duesseldorf e-museum site does look very similar to my vase comparing them side by side; and I rather think that the lack of a mark wouldn't indicate anything. But that is only significant if their attribution is correct.

I said W because the shape looks so thirties, and the bottom  finish is so WMF.  I have no concept of the wilder pieces of Ichendorf - just the piece you linked through.

Sorry for the delay, but I was off for a nice new year's trip to Hamburg, the highlight of which was visiting lovely Pamela's Pressglaspavillon.
I did check the Ikora book, but all similarly shaped vases there have an applied foot.
I guess I'll have to be content with German, possibly Ichendorf, until a labeled one appears...
Well, the usual trouble when it comes to attributing German postwar glass.

Nice piece, Michael. I also think it's 60-70 German, no idea who made it. Just to enhance speculation -  apart from the makers you have mentioned, Gral Glas has done a series brown with bubbles, and Theresienthal also seems to have had designs with bubbles (though I have to say most of my Theresienthal attributions haven't been very solidly backed so far).

I am not at all familiar with Theresienthal pieces, so I will do some research in that direction...

I checked the Gralglas book and CD-Rom carefully, but couldn't find a match. I have seen some of their bubbled pieces in colour "Nerz" (I think) in real life, and they are different to this vase.

Those steel-grey bubbles are quite distinctive (and very similar to the Ichendorf vase I linked to, still the closest I could find.)
