Art Deco uranium glass vase and frog
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:17:23 PM »
Hello
I bought 2 items today including this vase and frog.
The vase has original sticker on base that reads quality glass foreign. My first thought was Sowerby as it looked like their type of green but seeing the sticker I wondered Continental? There is a heck of a lot of uranium in it!
Wondered please if anyone could shed some light on it?
Best wishes Nige

Doesn't look as though it's going to be a quick one to id.            Not in Sowerby that I can see, or Bagley, or Pamela's pressglas-pavillon.    You might of course try the 'glas-musterbuch' pages.           Might we please see a picture of the sticker, if possible. :)

Hi Paul and Pamela
I have added some more photos including as best I could the sticker.
Pamela it does look to be a Walther green but I wasn't sure?
I have sen a Kopenhagen bowl before with motifs on?......but didn't know about a vase?
The other piece I picked up today was a green frosted Rosen comport on a chrome base....I looked on your site Pamela and saw you had a photo of a pink one so I knew that was a Rosen when I bought it.

Hi Paul and Pamela
Ah now it becomes clear!
Though I didn't know there were different sizes Pamela.
Would this be the vase that can be used as a base for a centrepiece?
Wonderful Pamela!

The medium sized vase is needed to build a centrepiece - yours with the frog is the large one, I believe - nice!
Many different bowls exist, patterned and unpatterned - none of mine in different colours are equal.
