Hello nicky00  :)
Can I ask - what is it? And could we have more pics so we can see it better?
A profile shot, an base shot and a rim shot, if it's a vase. thanks!
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

sorry, can't help.           I'd have put money on this being something from post war Czechslovakia, but I've looked through some of the obvious catalogues although don't see this exact design  -  quite a few like this with 'rocket fin' feet and designs with square lenses.
I'm assuming it's a vase, but could be wrong  -  but suggest that the heading is changed to something more suitable.
Welcome to the GMB by the way. :)  -  and compliments on your lates pic which is better than a lot of clear glass images we see, with fussy backgrounds etc.              Are you able to tell us how/where you acquired this :)

Hi,

Thank you for all for your replies.

Firstly how do I change the title?...I'll put my shortcomings on colour description down to the festive season ;D

The appearance is a vase although could it be some kind of bon bon dish?

It is in fact clear and not green and I aquired it from a charity shop with some other pieces , one of which was a Brockwitz Serphant Bowl and a very heavy cut whiskey / wine glass.
I came back  a week later for this ''rocket fin'  piece after having identified the Serphant Bowl.

I really am a very new collector so feel quite lucky to have trusted my instinct on things I simply like or worse still fall in love with.

Thank you for the photographic compliment.

Regards
Nicky

Nicky, I've changed the topic heading for you... and can tell you that your item is Czech, made at the Libochovice works, and if it is 200mm high and 135mm square, is shown in the pre-1958 catalogue as pattern number 1957, a base of a compote . There's a whole range of these things - they were made so you could use them either as a vase, or upside down they slot into the base of a matching bowl to make a 2-piece compote - the ultimate in usability! :)

Well spotted Anne - quite correct :)      I did look through this catalogue, but the 'upside down' image was too clever for me.    If you could see this picture Nicky you'd be quite amazed at the the combined effect the two pieces produce.
I can recommend buying the Sklo Unioin book and CD (covering Czech pressed glass) - although unsure if they are still available.
Look forward to seeing more of your finds. :)

Fantastic Anne yes !

Mine is 20cms high and 13 square.

The round outside convex circles are 3.5 cms in diameter.

Paul Thank you ! I look forward to tracking this book down as its sounds like a gem to get my hands on.

More pics added to this for future reference.
Thank you all so much, this is so very top drawer and extremely exciting. A whole new world :)

Page 32 of the pre-1958 Libochovice catalogue on the Marcus Newhall Sklo Union CD-ROM shows a square pattern number 1956 bowl (top dimensions given as 253mm square) atop the inverted pattern 1957 base.

Here are a couple of photos showing the 2 pieces together as in the catalogue image and separated.
