Red cased clear lamp ID needed
« on: January 02, 2013, 01:55:20 PM »
I recently purchased this lamp.
It is pressed red cased glass - thick, 14cm high, 1kg, and looks to be sklo union to me.
I was informed that it could be by Miroslav Klinger - but I am unable to find any pressed glass by him - so i feel this is unlikely.
any help in helping me identify would be greatly appreciated.
Rgds

Welcome to the board. It's not pressed. Rather it's mould blown. I don't think you can case and press

Hi, welcome. I saw the label and thought maybe Murano, but the label seems to say SV... KRI... maybe German Kristall? The shape looks quite German.... not sure it is Czech does the label say KRI... if so German seems possible??

I seem to remember I´ve seen the label on a Smalandshyttan vase some time ago - maybe a possible suspect...
google search for smalandshyttan

think 'we' might be getting closer - german is seeming likely - but which factories produced glass like this? I know nothing of German glass production - but feel i'm likely to find out. . I love learning new things - esp glass related :)
Thank you so much for all your informative replies

Looks like right direction but do not see this design attributed to him. What work is there has very different labels. This is also a simpler design so maybe much later than others of his on-line.

I´d agree with you, Frank. I think someone provided a link to a scandi site with lots of Josef Schott
designs some years ago, but I lost the link.... anyone?
