Classical misunderstanding: the vase travelled from western Austria to eastern Austria, so as far away from Australia as possible.
(I remember when I was on holidays in the 1980s/90s, and local people asked where I came from and I replied "Austria", they usually said "Oh, Australia ... kangaroos")

But thanks for the kind words, it is a fabulous piece...

Defintely an A. Seguso label. The big Murano written in the middle of the label like this is theirs. Nice, nice vase. Great find.
