About 6 or 7 years ago mabe a little longer I remember a cloud glass one sell on ebay  Switzerland, it may have been the same colour as your bowl. I have checked a number of times over the years for an image etc but have never seen another .

I do not know if they are modern repros, but I have seen Windsor vases in Black glass, Jadeite and also Streaky-Grey. All of which were small size. I have also had one in white ceramic as well as the Schmetterling, both of which were exact same pattern & size of the Walther glass pieces. There are also Arabella, Lukretia and Orla figurines, produced in chrome metal as car mascots, but I digress perhaps... It does seem peculiar that we do not get to see too many cloud glass examples of Walther glass. I do not know its history, but would could imagine (and am only guessing here) that it was either too late in production (hitting the onset of the Great Depression, much the same as say Jobling's opalescent glass of the era) or that its marketplace was more established by Davidson's in terms of export? One could also argue perhaps, that many of the Walther centrepiece sets and trinket patterns do not particularly lend themself to cloud glass IMO, as many of the detailed mouldings would be obscured and even lost without any means of controlling the distribution of the colour-types throughout the glass...  I mean, can you imagine for example, a Nymphen tray, in cloud glass, appearing beneficial?  Walther, would surely have considered this, though of course to COLLECTORS of today, well, they would be quite a find and a joy to possess, not to mention their value.

Hi Roy and John
Amazing what turns up out of the blue isn't it!
This is why as collectors we strive to find unidentified pieces and what a pleasure as well as a buzz when something out of the ordinary turns up!
I have seem some pieces of Walther in a smoky grey...I used to have a sonnenfische set and Relief vase in smoky.I think it was called Rauchtopaz? I remember a Schmetterling also selling in smoky grey.

... would sure look mighty fine with a Pelikan base of the same colour...
It is such a piece which screams out for one!  Will let you know if I ever find one... ;)

Very nice Nige. The cloud glass is so deep & rich on that bowl. Lovely.
