Hi

I have a large round perfume bottle with a mottled pink swirl effect. It is 3.5in high and has the word inka etched on the base.

Looks like Caithness to my very novice eye but I can't find any reference to inka anywhere.

I would say not. Caithness tends to have cut and polisehd rims - not heat finished and rounded like this and the "pattern" doesn't look right for Caithness either. Sorry I don't know what it is, though.

I agree with Sue - doesn't look like Caithness to me.
Also I have an image of the base of a perfume bottle (didn't copy the image of the item as such) with the same "inka" - in addition "St.Wilfrids". I cannot attribute this to a glass studio, but it might be a hint to follow

This sort of look like the effect Teign Valley Glass have used on their glass at some points.
I thought St Wilfrids might be a school and that maybe they did a school glass blowing project? perhaps inka made two pieces that day?

or maybe 'inka' is the name of the design?

I have found a post on this forum by member Janton on July 11 2005 regarding an amber mushroom glass bowl with an identical signature (I searched on inka).

Sadly no-one knew who's signature it is. The only suggestion being Inka Benton (highly unlikely) or a nickname.

I will carry on searching.
