True the macro lens did not really pick it up, I think I'll need a micro for that - and plenty of light.
ah well, wait for spring time.

this is the vase - scrolling down to look at the larger pics there is one of the bulbous part of the vase from the base. It's a bit difficult to tell but it looks like it has those tiny round holes in as well doesn't it?
is it possible to make a vase that shape from pate de verre? I couldn't see how it could be

Pic has vanished, m.
I don't believe for one moment you'll loose interest or forget that you are investigating this piece.

hi Sue
if you click on the link then look at their listing and scroll down they have put some pictures on under their description and they should still be showing.
I think it is the second one down which shows a close up of the decor. It seems to have those little teeny round bubbles in as well.

I find it hard to believe that this would be PDV - I know for a fact that the term is used pretty loosely in France; it includes all pressed glass. Dealers wil just tell you about anything.

That looks a bit more like corroso, but i've only ever seen that in pics before...
I don't believe for a split second it is PDV.

Do you think your platter could possibly be PDV?
And how are you feeling? Better, I hope!

Tjhanks Sue three days in bed was just what I needed.
I'm not thinking pdv now, more a liberal sprinkling of colour which did not dissolve, or which burnt on contact leaving microbubbles. But still unsure if how the plate as made. Not blown or it would have had a smooth inside. Not pressed - or there would have been seams. Or maybe the edge is the seam? Perhaps cast?
