Please help me with an ID on my mystery vase?
« on: January 25, 2013, 03:22:53 PM »
Hi,
I recently bought a vase from an antiques shop, their assistant knew nothing about it. Any info would be gratefully received!

It's vivid red, heavy, 5/6mm thick, 25cm tall 12cm wide, the spots are ground into the glass and appear as 'lenses'. I think its quite old.

I can't find anything similar on Google, photos attached!

I don't think we've managed to get this design identified yet - it's appeared here in cobalt blue before.

Suspicions veer towards Bohemia, but they seem to be found mostly in the uk, which casts some doubt.
They do have some good age, they're very well made, and are very attractive (but not top notch).

Welcome to the gmb!  :)

We don't give up here.  ;D
Sometimes identifications are quick and easy - sometimes they can take years. I hope it won't be years before we find out what this is, apart from "attractive and having some good age".  ::)
