Topic: Isle of wight Studio Glass goblets

The Mdina goblets are probably easily recognised but I just don't see many from IoWSG so here are two variations (15 and 20cm tall). That label has a comma, seems somewhat quaint these days.

My guess for dates would be mid to late seventies.

They are lovely. I especially like the shorter one... can you imagine having a set of 6, 8 or 12?

Both based on (what became?) Aurene, I imagine?
Is there a bubble in the stem of the shorter one? Or is it the shadow of the decor?

I like the shape of the short one best, but I prefer the decorative stem with a clear vessel as a design for a glass; if it is to be used rather than displayed.

From memory didn't Isle of Wight Studio glass have a set of similar in their online sale last year, I think there were a set of either 4 or 6, can't remember if they were IoWSG of Mdina, but very nice nevertheless, although not cheap!

They did Greg, but the price was so out of my league that I didn't even look very closely.... I just spluttered and choked a bit, then had to get a tissue to clean the screen.

Sets of 4 or 6 can easily be made into sets of 8 or 12.  And even if that many were never made, a girl can always dream.

I think that set for sale dated from Mdina.

Pretty sure I have seen a pair like the short one for sale too, I think Ron W had them at one of the glass fairs a year or two ago.

Not an air bubble in the stem of the short goblet but a little swirl of green/yellow, I did not notice it until viewing the photos. I prefer the tall one.
