A Couple of New Early Beraneks..... both 1946
« on: February 03, 2013, 06:58:19 PM »
A couple of pieces I have acquired recently. One in an antique mall, and the larger one yesterday at a show.

The larger piece stands at 6 inches tall and can be identified in the early Beranek drawings as an example of Shape 4674.

The smaller piece, standing at a little over 3 inches in height appears to be an example of shape 4679 from the same year.....

It appears that my Beranek collectiion, something that did not really exist a year and a half ago, is growing at a reasonable rate.  All of them have been found locally.....

The last pic is of the other pieces I have collected.....  I appear to have a growing interest in this great line of early glass from them....  pieces seem to be finding me now....

I wish they'd find me!
Those are looking perfectly splendid, Craig. :)
I've liked Beranek for a long time.

Lucky fellow!  You've got some wonderful early Skrdlovice.

I seem to have been lucky in finding a pretty wide variety of styles for so few pieces....  both decors and sizes....

Robert....  I am going to try to go get the Swan dish this week...

love that new one with the pink trails - well ...they are all gorgeous but that one is particularly special because of the colour combination.

Thanks M, I kind of like the pink detail also....  It is a small splash of color in the midst of the group...

I also thought I would post this link here for those that are not aware of it. I believe it may be in some other discussions on the board.

It is a link to the early line drawings for Beranek from 1945 - 1949. They have proved to be a great resource for me.

Thought I would add an image of the entire group that has come together in the last year or so.....  Quite interesting when viewed together...  the swan dish is the most recent piece in terms of production years, likely dating to the early 50's at the latest.

The one with the double handles was/is still being made. I saw some in the shops in CZ.
