Can you identify this beautiful vase.
Bought in an antique shop in Asheville NC several years ago.
It stands about 5 1/2" or 13mm.
The colours are brilliant.
A really fine piece.
No signature or marks of anykind.

I find it quite hard to tell whether something is older or studio glass when it comes to these pieces, but have you checked out Loetz.com and clicked on decors - to see if it is one of the phanomen numbers?

Yes...and the colour and design seem to be exact, however I've yet to find the same shape.

Could well be phanomen 6893. There's also a Kralik version (shift) identified on www.kralik-glass.com. You're right... can't seem to spot the shape.

(Asheville's my favorite place!)

Yes I saw that...thank you for the input.

I too like Asheville, it is only about 40 minutes from my home in Greenville SC.

What color is the ground? It appears kind of a dark Amber in the pics. Is that accurate?

Somewhat lighter than the picture as there seems to be dirt in the bottom of the vase itself.
The color is more like the upper rim which goes through out the vase.

What color is it?   I cannot really tell from the pic. The rim also looks kind of dark amber brown on my monitor? Could you post an image of it in sunlight so the ground color shows well?

Thanks,
Craig

OK, I tried though I am not the best photographer...
Holding the vase with one hand to catch the light and the camera steady in the other hand is not one of my talents.
The dark spots in the pontil is dirt inside the vase.

OK, Thanks....  that is what I was looking for. The ground appears to be Candia, or kind of a light amber. It just looked dark brown in the inside pics...

In this case it appears to be right for a Loetz PG 6893, at least as far as I can tell from the pics......

Although you may not be able to locate the exact shape, the neck and horizontal rim flair style on this example are found on a few other shapes that are identified as PG6893.

Nice vase....
