DG Ware - best price yet?
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:50:05 PM »
Now that this listing has finished, I thought some people might be interested in the price fetched for a DG Ware vintage Dewars ashtray on eBay.

I think this must be a record high*, but I am still curious as to why it fetched over 50? It is quite an unusual model with the matchbox retaining clip, but I can only think there is a cache of Dewars collectors out there. Having a modest collection of DG Ware myself, perhaps I should re-evaluate them...

*There was a DG Ware vase with a dragon decoration that was on offer for 75, but it never sold and eventually the price came right down to 30, from memory (and it still didn't sell). The commonest item is probably the Colemans mustard pot.
