I agree with Greg on the id here. It looks too finely made for Gozo.
It's certainly a new/contemporary piece, even if it is a wine rinser.

Thanks for all the replies, it is about the same size as a rinser but that may or may not be just a coincident.

I would also agree that it was fairly new and a contemporary piece.

Thanks Greg for the pictures of you similar Lafiore glass vase

Thanks Roy

Hi Roy,
There's a strong possibility these may not be Lafiore glass after all. Just came across these contemporary pieces in the below link produced by Jan Zeman. The example in the link is initialled with his mark, however, apart from that they do seem very similar indeed:  :)

Having just looked at a few other examples, I am fairly sure these are indeed contemporary Jan Zeman pieces, the example in the link below, has the exact same blue coloured banding and mottled background as my example when viewing the close up image:

Following Greg's latest thoughts in this thread and similar work in another thread:
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,65366.msg365721.html#msg365721
I have added an ID to the title and moved this into the Czech Republic (etc) forum.
