Hi I bought this weight yesterday and the price sticker was on the base on removing said sticker I found that it had been covering a paper backed blue foil label, unfortunately the label is now well and truly stuck to the price sticker not the weight any ideas, also does anyone have any idea what the strange creature in the sulphides are meant to be.

No idea on the paperweight but floating your label, price sticker down, in a saucer of warm water may help to seperate them

Has a Murano look about some of those canes.  Seeing the label would really help, if you can separate it.  

Strange creature looks doggy to me!

I could not seperate them the foil disintegrated all I can say it was a blue background with silver writing. Still I only paid £4 for it, it's got to be worth that. Thanks for all your help.

I can add a bit to this string - I have a weight which I ASSUME is Murano with the same sillouette cane although in reverse. It also has a similar sillouette cane on the other side of the weight but showing 4 legs - looks like a horse ?

THe base of mine is the usual flat gound and polished Murano base and all the facets are flat ground.

I say ASSUME its a Murano as although the canes look Murano - they are very delicate colours and very much smaller than the usual Murano offering.

As to labels - I have two Muranos with pale blue and silver metallic labels shaped like a shield 15mm x 12mm .

I would say that this is definitely a Murano weight.  I would also guess that the animal is supposed to be a deer, not a horse or a dog!  As regards the label - blue on foil, so with silver writing, is a commonly used Murano combination - round or oval or sometimes filly edged.

It is an interesting weight too, as Murano weights with sihouette canes do not appear on the market very often.
