walsh walsh fish
« on: February 23, 2013, 02:30:15 PM »
Hi everyone,

I think this may be a Walsh Walsh crackle fish from the 1930's. It seems to be lead crystal, is unmarked but has a small pontil rod mark it seems under the rear fin behind the back feet. I am quite pleased to have found a possibly quite unusual British piece of glass. It is quite beautifully made, even if not conventionally "pretty!" It is about ten inches long...

Yours looked great too Keith. The photos had a slight pink to them, was the fish itself crystal clear? There were several fish patterns and we may just have slight pattern differences.... I do not know how difficult to find these fish are. I now have a few Walsh Walsh pieces... none of them marked. It makes a fine addition!

I do have this amber one that still requires arbitration. I'll also link to this previous topic when I first posted it.

Lovely, aren't they?  ;D

great piece Robert  -  must admit I've never seen one although haven't gone out of my way to search for them.     I can wel believe that the fish might not have a backstamp, but even on standard production items it can be very difficult to find, and not always there anyway, I don't think.

Keith - have I missed seeing yours somewhere, then??

Here is another, a similar one (or i think this might be the same one) sold by Fieldings described as Walsh Walsh, this one is not new with seeds, foot wear and years of dirt in the cracks, i would not think at all these are Murano 60's.

11 inches in length and 6 inches in height.

Regards Chris.

Another nice example, Chris. I wonder how much it sold for?
