Organic Wine Glasses - Who by?
« on: February 26, 2013, 07:39:42 PM »
Hello,

I wonder if anyone out there can help identify these glasses please?

White example is 23 cms tall applied thin white rim to top of glass and matching applied rim around the foot of the glass.  Applied trails around the bowl of the glass in the form of tree branches. Slight opalescence to the bowl and foot of the glass.

Green example similar size with opalescence but this one has applied blue rim around top and foot of the glass.  Both appear to be signed either OTTER or possibly O HER both dated 2003.

Both stems are clear glass with brown spirals going down simulating a tree trunk.

The glasses seem to be very well made and made in 3 separate pieces, bowl, stem & foot and hot joined together.

Please can anyone help identify who made these and / or which glass studio made these?

Many thanks

J

Hi,

This is the best I could do with the signature.  I even had to miss of 2003 part as picture too large for Glass Message Board.

Hope you can help.

Fabulous!
Could the sig read Otto R? Do you suspect it could be lamp-work? Could it be an artist at  Lauscha or some other similar high-quality maker?

Hi Sue M,

I didn't think of lamp work - could well be - thank you :-)

Seems to have stumped everyone else :-)

 ;D
Are they very light in weight?
(indication of lamp-work - not flimsiness or lack of quality!)
