DG Ware - best price yet?
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:50:05 PM »
Now that this listing has finished, I thought some people might be interested in the price fetched for a DG Ware vintage Dewars ashtray on eBay.

I think this must be a record high*, but I am still curious as to why it fetched over £50? It is quite an unusual model with the matchbox retaining clip, but I can only think there is a cache of Dewars collectors out there. Having a modest collection of DG Ware myself, perhaps I should re-evaluate them...

*There was a DG Ware vase with a dragon decoration that was on offer for £75, but it never sold and eventually the price came right down to £30, from memory (and it still didn't sell). The commonest item is probably the Colemans mustard pot.
