Identification small flask like glass 'vase'
« on: January 01, 2013, 11:45:39 PM »
Hi, could anybody offer suggestions as to the maker of a small glass vase I picked up at a sale. It's about 7" tall, kind of frosted dark orange or brown. Pinched in the centre to form a kind of figure of eight shape. Has the appearance of a string of sausages and is slightly lopsided. I will try and post picture but in the meantime any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the board. We ask that you only post one item per thread to minimise confusion. We also like dimensions, photos or descriptions of the top rim and base shots. I will ask the mods to split this thread.

I wonder if your orange thingy might be Mtarfa

Bumping this request to see if I can get any insight. The post has been on the board for over a month so I hope this is OK.

Thanks
Steve

:) It is indeed ok after a month - and I didn't see it before.
However, while I agree with Christine it could be Mtarfa, I can't see enough detail in how the colour is introduced and worked to be sure, especially as there are no green splodges in it. Mtarfa did do some really weird coiled tube vases - this "string of sausages" shape is not inconsistent with their produce.
Does it have any strange illegible squiggle on the base?
