Faceted paperweight chinese ??
« on: March 09, 2013, 10:38:43 PM »
Hi, I am trying to I/D this 5 sided faceted paperweight with a white flower uppermost, its just under 3 inches dia and just under 1.750 inches tall. The flower looks as though its a transfer and the panels don't look to be ground and polished.
Many thanks
Malcolm

Looks like a Webb Corbett shape with their type of colour flashing. But I know little about those type weights!

Did Webb Corbett use transfer printing for such weights? I am familiar with engraved weights, usually not very fine images. Then there are weights of the same shape (mostly flash overlay) with more detailed images (e.g. a horse riding woman in the woods), using transfer printing. Whilst I cannot exclude Webb Corbet as maker, I tend towards Murano.

The exact same design of screen printed flower was used by Dema on some of their glasses, see http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,71964.20.html
