I have acquired this vase in a job lot of glass and know nothing about it. Can anyone help with identification of maker or any other information about it. Any help greatly appreciated. It is 6.5 inches high.

Alum Bay Glass might be a contender.

It might be worth contacting them to ask, Ronnie.
I agree with you Greg - a possible contender.
I might have suggested Mtarfa, if it were not for the base.

It might be advertised as Strathearn, but I do not believe for one moment that it really is Strathearn!  :o

Three more of a similar shape on ebay descibed as probaly Monart Strathearn or Vasart. IMHO it is none of these makers.

Thanks all for contributions - greatly appreciated. Hi Sue, long time no speak! The other one here (John), not Ronnie but same difference lol. My first reaction when I saw it was Mtarfa but the glass seemed too thin for that and just didn't feel right. It definitely isn't Strathearn etc.. as we are quite familiar with Scottish glass having collected it for more years than I care to remember.  I will send pics to Alum Bay Glass and see what they say and let you know.
Regards
John

I have had a response from Alum Bay Glass (many thanks) who confirmed that this is NOT one of theirs - the mystery continues.

Woops, John - shows how long it's been since we talked!

This piece is bothering me. I'm sure Mdina did use a combinationof  orange white and black splodges together- but I'm pretty sure there were more than just the three colours present.
But the construction of the piece - this thin glass and the "dented" base rules anything Maltese out.

I know one of the very badly dremmelled and wrongly spelled "Michael Harris" signatures was on a square shaped bottle with orange white and black splodges - this was several years ago and in the "chrism days".  ;)

I am starting to wonder about Gibralta glass for this piece? I don't know much about them at all, just that a fabby bit of Mdina I bought once was listed as being Gibralta, and there's a small splodgy bit in a local charity shop - I should be able to get a peek at it's construction on Monday. It's not frilly, it's smaller than this and it's green and blue splodges.
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)
