Signed Kedelv bone vase with unusual fine line pattern
« on: March 24, 2013, 03:56:16 PM »
I've had this lovely piece for some years now, but have never found another one with the same pattern.  Does anyone know what this technique of pulled fine white lines is called and whether this had a design name?  It seems to be a variation on a theme of his Flamingo and Coquille pattern.  May be not part of a series, but just an individual piece?  It's signed KEDELV  FLYGSFORS  55.
Many thanks  :)

This one has similar lines running up the vase but does not have the twiddly bits in the base: https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/ScandinavianGlass#5730198868067282674

In Murano the technique is called fenicio, feathering elsewhere. I haven't seen a Kedelv piece like this before. Would it be possible to see a shot of the signature on the base? It's from the year before he left Flygsfors, btw.

Lovely dish!  Nice to see another with the same pulled feather effect.
Thanks folks for your comments.

Anne,

Thanks of the photo of the base.  With two of them before me, I'm wondering if the line did have a separate name.

I've found the following Kedelv series for Flygsfors - Fantasia or Fantasy (from the Coquille range), Coquille, Sydenmatt, Flamingo. No luck with the pulled feather design so far though, but will continue to look.

Also as an aside, Kedelv's Sargasso and Harlekin for Reijmyre.
