Topic: little help please - yellow & dark blue powder bowl

hello message board people, i am a newbie here    and i have a few pieces of glass ware i would like some help with please. this is the first piece.

I can tell you my gran got it in 1928 when she was 17. the lid looks like its black, but its actually blue. it has a few small chips in the rim of the lid and the bowl. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks so much

Wow, thanks guys/gals!! It's good to finally know what it is. What would the dollar value be on this? I'm not going to sell, just curious really. I spent at least 3 days trying to find what it is, got it down to being a powder bowl. Is it part of a trinket set? Or a stand alone piece?

Valuations are very subjective, we don't really discuss them here. But for your curiosity, I can tell you  that you won't be able to give up your day job. 
If you have a look on ebay for similar things and watch to see what they go for, you'll get an idea. Chips and fleabites on the rims of these are fairly common and reasonably forgivable, but they will still affect any value; the scarcity or desirability of your colour scheme (if it is scarce) will also have some bearing.

I think these are standalone pieces, rather than being made as part of a trinket set. I've never seen matching pieces of them as a set, but... never say never....!
