Topic: Small "Mezza Filigrana" bowl

Is it possible to attribute a piece like this to a maker, or are these "generic"?

12 cm diameter, dark blue / light blue / aventurine stripes, snapped-off pontil mark.

Michael, it is possible if you found one like it with a label. I can tell it is a well-made bowl. I just don't know who made it. It looks like a quality company to me.

These are quite abundant here, but usually not cheap; this one only cost 3,- Euro, so it had to come home with me

I've seen these attributed to Campanella, but I don't how reliable an attribution that is. Whoever made it, it's a very nice piece of Murano for 3.00 Euros.

Could this possibly be Turkish Çesm-i Bülbül (nightingale's eye) glass?  Just a thought.

Nice thought but no - Çesm-i Bülbül  is blue and white, not blue and aventurine. It is also rather heavy and thickwalled - not like this piece.

Ah yes, you are right Ivo,  I hadn't taken the aventurine into account... sorry Michael, I hope it wasn't a wild goose chase for you.

I can't be sure (it is a nice, but very common item), but looking at some details, I would say Campagnol and Salvadore at 90%.
"Campagnol and Salvadore" (now named only "Salvadore Studio") has two lines of production: one pretty commercial (as for this bowl), focused on the craft market, and one very high end and artistic (very expensive) focused on the art galleries market.

They make them with a special tool: the steel pipe is fixed on a sliding cart.
In this way the pipe can go in a and out the oven very easly. The blow cames from a piston pushed with the foot.
This special process makes everything faster and easier, allows the production by a single worker.
It is use to small bottles, small plates, bowls, bottle stoppers and other small items.

I still work with them for some high end products. It is a nice, crazy team of skilled glassblowers
