Can you give me more information as to why you think that it is Nourot. Because I found this on their website.

All Nourot Studio pieces are still signed and registered by the same method since the studio began: studio name, series letters, piece number, year and the artist's initials.

That was just what it look like to me at the time.  Also I missed seeing the first character of the signature at the far left.  It doesn't appear to be a Nourot given the additional information.

I saw it as an ititial, S, F or G.  then Menheniots. But I can't find any reference to a glass artist with that name.

I have seen this signature several times - usually as "Cristal Guerandi" - in one case attributed to an Anna Guerandi in Bristol. I cannot find anything about her on the web, though.

One weight also had a sticker "Ortloff" on the base (a shop ?).

What confuses me is one paperweight signed "Farfalla Guerandi". Now - Farfalla is well known paperweight dealer in Germany, and many paperweights they sell have their butterfly logo plus their name etched on the base ... but I have never seen farfalla from the artist's hand added to his/her signature (apart from this one).

Wow Wolf,  now I can easily see it!!  But I would never have known,  I don't 'do' paperweights,  but I like trying to decipher signatures... failed this time!  ???

Thank you very much Wuff, I would have given up before figuring that out. One is being auctioned here http://shop.housingworks.org/lot.cfm?lotID=49673. The name is printed but there are enough similarities to tell me that your right. Thanks again and keep a look on eBay if your interested in it. I have 6 more without marks on them. Care to share some more of that knowledge?
