Paul Ysart weight with two PY canes in flowers?
« on: May 08, 2013, 04:22:32 PM »
Hi, I'm not sure if a Paul Ysart garlanded 2D posy weight with two genuine PY canes is particularly unusual. Any views ?

Thanks

A few are known. When there are two PY canes in flower weights, they are usually set either side of the lower part of the stem(s).

I have no idea whether more "two-py-cane" butterfly weights were made than flower weights. But my gut feel is that I have seen about six of each.

I don't have any in my collection because I don't agree that two py canes means twice the price!

Thanks Kev,
as a real novice to the PY world almost everything is a mystery. I'm hoping to learn a whole lot at the PY weekend in June. I guess a degree of rarity would push up the price of a two PY cane weight but certainly not 2 x normal. I won't ask what normal is as it's not a fair question. I'll just keep watching what is being paid on e-bay and auctions. There again what is normal these days? (rhetorical !!) Seems like fake PY weights command a hell of a lot !

Thanks,
