hmmmm he doesn't seem to have a web presence. Do you happen to know anything about him?
Thank you very much!

Hi Lynne
no, but the name rang a bell - maybe Top Glass or Our Glass or Midsummer glass? the bottle reminds me slightly of those - oh perhaps Teign Valley glass?  I can't honestly remember.  I've just looked through my Studio Glass books and Contemporary Glass books and there is no mention though, sorry.
Pretty piece and it makes me think maybe early 2000's perhaps.

Yes, I agree, it is similar to a LOT of other bits from around that time. Nothing innovative or striking, just pretty.
Thank you very much!

I found a snippet about 'Martin Yeates' online. It said:

Quote
An iridescent lustre glass vase by Robert Martin and Ian Yeates at their glass works at Corby Castle. Engraved signature "Martin Yeates" on the base.

So it is not one glass maker but two! That led me to find this story on the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/domesday/dblock/GB-344000-552000/page/9 referring to the date of 1986, which says:

Quote
9 months ago Robert Martin and Ian Yeates started a glassworks in the grounds of Corby Castle. They use their skill to make a range of glass ornaments such as paperweights, perfume bottles and vases. They make about 25 items each day.

The mystery has lifted just a little.
