Topic: modern smoke coloured vase

Hi,
does anyone recognise this simple vase? It could still be being sold. It has a heat finished rim, not cut and a flat polished base. The smoke colour is making people think German or possibly Scandinavian..... It is about 15cm tall. I am really keen to know what it is but I fear that the shape is slightly generic.......

Thanks Dirk... though one Dutch GMB member has suggested not Dutch... I actually checked my Caithness book too... the smoke looked a bit peaty... I think a few more nations may yet be dragged into this thread....

I've seen these vases a couple of times here in the UK and also a jug, made using the same mould but with the top finished at an angle and with a handle. The jug had a label which, if I remember correctly, said "Bronzglass Made in Poland". The jug had quite a well finished mirror polished base. Presumably "Bronzglass" was an importer or retailer here in the UK rather than a manufacturer.

I've always wondered if they may be related to these vases:

There´s umpteen of these designs in german glass  - from 30´s to 60´s. The one in the link
should be Alfred Taube around 1950-60 IMHO.
This slightly green-ish smoke glass tone has been used by every glassworks at that time:
WMF, Hirschberg, (Füger &) Taube, Friedrich...

The one in the eBay link is interesting because for some reason it crops up here quite frequently whereas a lot of German post-war glass does not.
Post-war WMF, Peill & Putzler, Süssmuth are generally really thin on the ground here. Presumably it depends who was importing what at the time.

Thanks Robbo and Dirk. It is certainly worth discussing these pieces given their frequency and quite good manufacturing quality. Better identification will help a lot of people. It is a nice small vase of reasonable quality ..... The Poland option is interesting and German options too. Many decent glassworks have evidently chased a similar customer base over the past few decades.... interesting.
