Topic: isle of wight azurene gold candlesticks

Hello
just bought these today and was wondering if they are a normal production piece
or a frigger or made especially for someone
just over 5 1/2 inch high
they will be going on ebay soon
so l will understand if there are no replies

They are around, but I wouldn't call them "normal" production. There are fewer candlesticks, lampbases and goblets than there other much more "normal" things.

Sue is correct in her assessment. Candlesticks with metal tops were made in limited quantities as part of the  normal production range. We have one in the museum collection, but we went to a seller in the USA to acquire it. The more common candlesticks are made entirely of glass. We have more of these, in various ranges. I attach pictures of both forms for reference. (Sorry about the poor pictures. It was the best I could do at short notice.)

Would echo that they are hard to find, the metal fittings I have seen on IoWSG products are high quality.
