« on: June 11, 2013, 11:39:01 AM »
Hi all,
Be very grateful for your thoughts on this bluebottle iridescent vase. It's 22cm high and unsigned.
Welcome your wisdom!

Lovely vase, sorry I can't help with id.
I don't think it's Siddy Langely, I don't think she used that sort of bright iridescent strapping, I don't think it's John Ditchfield - he tends to leave the base unfinished, with the pontil scar showing.
I don't think it looks like Norman Stuart-Clarke either. They're all uk glassmakers.
Waiting in anticipation for others' comments.  :)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Glad you share my taste - and thanks for getting the ball rolling.
I've attached a picture of the top (sorry about the identi-kit approach.) The rim is 10mm thick, which may be a lead. It's a heavy piece.

The polished rim would also rule out the 3 makers I've mentioned.
You can add 4 pics per posting.  :)

appears to be mold blown as there is no pontil mark or signs of the bottom being ground and polished. That would be a tip that it was factory made as most small studios don't use this type of mold for most of their work

Hmmm, thanks... hopefully that narrows it down a bit.
