I've stared at and studied this weight in amazement for several years. This came from the same collection as the other ID request I have going.
A bit more info on the previous owner. She collected these from the 1960's through the 1990's and apparently traveled around to the shows, etc. She was a customer of Selman's for a lot of her later years. One weight has a label from Marjorie Madey in Baton Rouge but unfortunately other than that she didn't keep any records that I found. A lot of her collection were from good modern makers.
This weight is pretty amazing. I don't know if it is an antique or not but it is finely made. The pommel is ground concave with the rest of the base being unpolished. It measures approx 3 inches tall and is 3 1/2 in diameter.
The cones, etc are actually in 2 layers, something not noticeable until you look into the bottom. I can't even count the styles that are represented in there. I am not sure if this would be considered scrambled or just close packed.
One interesting aspect is when I blacklight it there are some of the pieces, the orange ones, that really floresce brightly in pinkish orange bands. I tried to photograph this but had dismal luck.
Again, there are many more photos in photobucket that you can see following this link:
