I.D. Glass Pineapple Etched goblet
« on: June 22, 2013, 05:25:01 PM »
Hello, I am looking for an I.D. on the glass goblet.  I have searched with no luck.  It has pineapples around the glass.  TIA, brenda

Hi,

I can't tell with the reflections, Is it a bubble stem?  Is the stem faceted, and if so how many sides?

Also I've looked at your glass but honesty I'm having a hard time seeing the design.  Are you sure those are pineapples?  Can you get a close up shot of them?

With etched/cut clear glass I often find a dark background helps.   Here's a fairly easy setup that works with natural light like it looks like you have.   (This setup tip was from an eBay member workshop on difficult to photograph items:  http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Workshops/Member-Workshop-Practical/1000030045)

Hello, the stem is faceted with 6 sides.  Perhaps this pic will help.  The pineapples? are engraved with what looks like stems coming down.  The stems are etched.  thanks for your help

Your pics really need to be larger. You should be able to get them around 700 pixels along the longer side, and then compressed slightly (saved for web) and they should come in under our file size limit. A dark matt background will show the pattern off better too, as Cubby mentioned above.
