help with id ing two paperweights plese
« on: June 29, 2013, 05:55:58 AM »
I picked these this morning from the one owner. The sticker on the pink one says Rikaro Czech Republic. The blue is incredibly heavy weighing 1.35 kgs. it is at least twice the size of the pink. The blue one is better looking in the flesh but I couldn't capture that on the camera.
Can someone help id the maker of the blue? and does the design have a name? And can someone date them. I think the pink is recent but I don't know much

Hi

Rikaro are not a maker - they are an Australian import / gift company.  The pink one may have been made in the Czech Republic, but it looks very like some of the recent Chinese products.  The same goes for the blue paperweight - very like modern Chinese.
