These make good pencil holders. The weight is good and stable.
I recently found a square one, a little bit taller than yours.

An upside down 6" bowl in one of the other colour combos (little pattern to be seen the right way up).

I've seen an interesting variation on shapes.
Somebody had stuck a bowl upside-down, on top of one of the vases and was selling it as a ginger jar.
