Art nouveau vase? signed to base
« on: September 05, 2013, 07:15:24 PM »
Hi all
Final request for ID today.

This stands about 8 inches high, and is very well made with applied prunts/lampwork.  I can't work out what the signature says and don't know where to look for similar examples.  I'm guessing, due to the design that it is from the Art Nouveau period, or possibly Art Deco but I'm guessing.  Colour is a vaseline-ey pale green (though it's not uranium glass - I tried my UV on it)

As ever, any suggestions gratefully received
Thanks

Signature on base (messed with contrast and brightness to bring it out as much as possible. Talc didn't work).

Hi,
itīs the replica of a medieval īStangenglasī, made of a greenish forest glass. In these times decolorants like
manganese werenīt too widely used and the quartz used contained some iron which caused the green colour.
I canīt make out the signature, but it possibly wouldnīt help much if I could.   :)
A search for makers of glass replica might help.
