I would be grateful for an Id, together with any other information known, such as dates, designer, pattern number, name of range, name of colour, &c. for this amethyst candlestick with a twisted stem.   Height 5ΒΌ".   Can't find it in Cooley, Ronald Stennett-Willson Glass Design 1954–1980, Benson or Jackson.

Hi Bernard,
Have you tried the Tobin book?
I don't have a copy, so I can't assist further.
Apologies,
Marcus

Marcus β€” No, I have never seen it, and had actually forgotten about it.   Hopefully the book will be available at Gaydon (less than two weeks to go, and I have not started sorting stock for it yet!)

If anyone has a copy, would they please look up my candlestick.

Thanks in anticipation,

Hi Bernard,

It's 'Helix' by RS-W, available in 3 heights: 10.25, 14 and 18 cm. and is one of his later candlestick designs. Don't ask whether KL or Wedgwood, as I'm not sure whether its both, or only one!!

Cheers, Nigel
(See you at Gaydon)

Nigel β€” Grateful thanks for the information.   Not that I doubt you at all, but what source did you use?   Perhaps an original trade catalogue, an advertisement, or a reference book?   Or was it one of those pieces of information you file away in your memory?   I like to cite sources, as you know.

I look forward to seeing you at Gaydon,

Hi Bernard,

Basically it's accrued knowledge, but since I couldn't remember the sizes I checked the catalogues I have - not in 'em :(  I then double checked the references you tried (except mine) as I was sure I'd seen it somewhere.

I was right. Susan Tobin's book "Wedgwood Glass" has a row of candlesticks, including one Helix example, and a seperate passage that gives the sizes. Like me she doesn't suggest which factory specifically.

Nigel
