Poinsettia Paperweight - ID help please
« on: November 15, 2013, 09:49:39 PM »
I think this is a poinsettia set in a ring of star centred canes all on a deep purple ground. The base has a raised/ button pontil mark. This measures 3ins diameter and 2 1/4ins high and weighs 564g. Any help with ID would be appreciated. Many thanks
Alastair

It looks like a Caithness piece to me.  The unfinished base suggests a seconds quality product.

Thanks Alan - why did I not look where I invariably look? I think this is it or certainly similar and makes sense of why the poinsettia is set on what looks like holly leaves

The button on the base confused you - that is not a normal feature for Caithness. ;)
