miniature PW Id help please
« on: November 25, 2013, 05:26:20 PM »
I've been musing over this one for a few days now

Can't match the canes so does that mean it's probably Chinese?

It is tiny; 1.25 inches wide x 1 inch high

The base is concave but not ground or polished and the matrix is a vivid orange

any pointers gratefully received

Mel

Vasart weights of that size were either sold as miniature weights or used as decorative handles on bar set items, gear sticks, letter openers etc.

Funnily enough I have 4 or 5 here that actually have the holes drilled in the base but were never then used for bar tools etc

thanks Kevin & Nick for the additional info.

not sure what happened to my original base image - it didn't upload

There are no drilled holes or other indication it had been stuck on a piece of barware but agree the closest matches do look bar related
