If so, would you like it Margaret? I hold little hope of finding a top

Yep, that is the better cup for the Davidson shade.

It would not be too difficult for you to find a Clarke shade on eBay.  Some of the more common lamps go pretty reasonably.

Thanks for the offer, but after collecting fairy lamps for over 40 years, I have plenty of spare cups.  I would rather it go to someone who really needs it.

Jim.

I was asking Margaret not you Jim  ;) Any fairy lamp would have to be uranium for my collection and they don't pop up too often in the UK (I have also become allergic to ebay these days)

Thanks for your generous offer Lustrousstone.  It would certainly fit with the primrose Davidson dome.  Sorry for the delay in answering your post - time difference.

The correct base for this is the clear Clark Fairy Lamp base that came with the piece.  Clark contracted with Davidson (and a lot of other manufacturers) to make the tops for his fairy lamp base.  From an old Fairy Lamp newsletter that was sent to me by someone:

It is interesting that the lamp did not have a Clarke model number.  It was simply identified in the ad as "Clarke Pearline".  However, the same shade and cup was advertised on a plush base as Clarke model 321.  Jim

I mentioned earlier that there were two shades of blue Pearline.  The following link will take you to an article that shows both shades of blue side by side.
