Three clear pressed glass plates each bearing the registry date lozenge for 1st May 1867 – Parcel 7, which corresponds to registered design number 186461, registered by  Alderson, Higginbottom & Co., Cockhedge Glass Works, Warrington.

The plates vary between 8 and 8½ inches in diameter, and are quite crudely finished, with rough edges from the mould still present.

(Permission for the re-use of this image on the GMB granted by Rob young).

This is the only recorded design registration for this company.

Thomas Joyce gives an interesting account of the Cockhedge Glass Works and its proprietors at  http://www.inchicore-pressedglass-museum.org/Cockhedge%20Glass%20Works1.htm
