Author Topic: Any ideas who this is by? - King's Lynn (Read 1975 times)

Hi,

I'm new to the site, and very impressed with the set up and contents.

I have been trying to find the maker of the following glass sculpture for about 5 years now - its in clear crystal with 6 larger air bubbles and about 13 inches tall. There is the remains of a label, but I have never been able to make out what it reads - I think there might be 2 'N's (above where I have added them in the photos).

Wedgwood or King's Lynn.

Featured in Millers Collectable's 2004 page 267. Description, Three sculptural glass pieces made to commemorate the landing on the moon., 1969, 14 inches high.

They're all different sizes but it doesn't say which one is 14 inches, I presume the larget one. It does not mention if it's King's Lynn or Wedgwood, It says the date of 1969 is when it was renamed "Wedgwood" so it could be either)

Thanks Tigerchips, I wouldn't have guessed it was English - I bought it thinking Scandinavian - From what you say - I would guess Kings Lynn - I am sure there are 2 'N's that can just be made out from the remains of the label

Interestingly the book quotes these pieces at £200-300 each. But I don't think you'll get that much though, will you?

The Miller prices are off the mark compared to ebay prices. Also, some attributions are wrong but if the label has "NN" then I guess it's King's Lynn like you say.
