Unknown copper wheel engraved paperweight
« on: December 17, 2013, 02:35:08 PM »
Hi All,
Does anyone recognise the engraver of this rather nice paperweight. As you can see it is very skillfully copper wheel engraved with a moth and butterfly amongst dog roses (my photos don't do it justice). Even the ground out pontil on the base has a rose and on the edge of the basal rim the initials d.m.

I had thought it may be Denis Mann but I emailed pictures to him and he tells me although it looks like it may be a Caithness item it was not done by him.

It is 80mm diameter by 60mm high (3 1/8" x 2 3/8")

Nick
