approx Date range for Bohemia Glass label?
« on: December 13, 2013, 07:37:11 PM »
It's on an art deco malachite glass piece found at an estate sale.  Trying to figure out if it's something that might go back to the 1930s-'40s when the piece was designed... or if it's more recent than that?  Can the label shed some light?

Hmmm, after looking a bit more I'm getting the feeling this is likely from the 1950s-'60s.  Still hoping someone with more background will chime in.

TIA,

.

Hi,

The label was used by Glassexport, the umbrella exporter of Czechoslovakian glass, from the 1950's to at least the 70's, so impossible to tell much from the label.  This looks like a later label to me, but that's just a very slightly educated guess. You'd be better off posting a photograph of the piece itself. It's likely somebody would recognize it.

Please have a look at Bohemia labels - second half of 1950ies, I'd say.

Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.
