Anyone making glass figurines (animals) ?
« on: February 13, 2014, 01:29:38 PM »
I have been approached by a collector of bulldogs (the life animals!), living in Brighton (UK), looking for a glass artist making a glass bulldog on order.

If you are such a person, or know of one, please speak up - I'll forward the info.

Best regards - Wolf

There is a lampworker, David Smith, who use to work at Perthshire, who I saw selling lampwork animals and birds on their own, it was what he was doing for a while after Perthshire closed. But I cannot find him on the web anywhere. :'(

:-[ Doh. No wonder I couldn't find him!
Yes, that's the chap. His work is breathtaking. I'm sure he could make a wonderful bulldog.
But Langham Glass appears to make bulldogs.  :)

I met Duncan and his wife last August at the British Bird Fair. He has extended his artistry into various wildlife and had even purchased books on birds of other countries for additional inspiration.

Hello Wolf, Christine is correct,  Langham glass do make an English Bulldog and it is a very well observed piece.

Also BECKHURST OF EASTBOURNE - not too far from Brighton, makes amazingly beautiful lamp work glass animals and birds.

That's wonderful news, Kev. I met him shortly after Perthshire closed, and have been wishing him well with his new career working on his own since. We had a lovely long chat about his work, and I see from his site he is doing some incredible stuff. I'm very tempted indeed by his wild cats.
