Orrefors bowl Eva Englund/Arne Lindahl - rarity and value?
« on: February 15, 2014, 03:22:40 AM »
Hello, Everyone,

So glad to be here. It took me an age to register. Kafka and Heller combined could not come up with a more frustrating process!

Anyway, I hope you can help. I have an Orrefors bowl. It's signed EE.AL which I think means it's designed by Eva Englund and Arne Lindahl. If so, it must be from 1987 or before. The bowl is 12.5cm (about 4 7/8") across at the top and has a grey Orrefors sticker on it. It comes in a grey box that's the same colour as the sticker. The bowl is decorated with a flower pattern which I'm guessing is painted on.

I'm trying to include a picture. Hope you can see it.

Is this bowl rare? I can't find another picture of it anywhere online. How valuable is it?

Thanks,

Glass Novice

Hi and welcome  :)
- sorry you had so much trouble registering.  ???
I can't help with your bowl I'm afraid, Orrefors is not my area.
Have you tried searching simply for enamelled or painted Orrefors?

"Values" of items in the secondary market are highly subjective; we don't really tend to discuss them here.
Something is worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it, in that place, at that time.
Ball park figures can be obtained by finding similar items on finished auctions, then dropping the figure a bit because at least one contender, the buyer, is now out of the running.

Hello

This bowl is designed by Eva Englund. It is called "Linnea" and was a production piece from Orrefors.

Thank you, Bill G!

Just knowing that it's called Linnea helps considerably.

Much appreciated,
