Celebrating Pilkingtons' 150th anniversary, they were made by Chance. Probably sold through The World of Glass in St Helens, if it was in operation then.

Yes, it is of interest. However, Chance and Fiesta Glass Ltd did make hundreds (thousands?) of different promotional items for many years and with a minimum order quantity of 250, it wasn't that expensive for a local church/village/organisation/event/[fill in to suit] to purchase a quantity and knock them out at a profit. Companies would also buy them as gifts for customers.

I have no idea how many of the Pilks trays there are, but they do crop up occasionally, although the one (say) depicting my local church has only appeared once that I know of. So whilst the local church is almost certainly 'rarer', it is of considerably less interest to anyone except a local, whereas the Pilks one would interest anyone who worked/works there or is researching some part of its history, etc.
