Topic: Is this Orrefors

Can anybody help me ID this bud vase. Stands 18cm high and weighs 1.4kg. It appears purple in normal light but changes to a greeny blue under neon lights. I thought it might be Orrefors as I can find similar but not exactly the same shape attributed to that company.

I can't help on the id but if it changes colour then it is neodymium glass.
Using that in a search may help, but if not hopefully someone will be along who recognises the shape.

I think it is most likely not Orrefors.  The more recent pieces have an etched Orrefors mark.  Before that they had a scratch marking of 'Of' if they were very small, 'Orrefors' otherwise and often a designer code and design number. 

eg.  Orrefors PA 1345/23 would be interpreted as Orrefors made it, P = Sven Palmquist (the designer), A= engraved, 1345 = design number, 23 = colour combination or if engraved might represent the engraving pattern number.

I assume it has no markings and that makes me think more of Bohemia as they did quite a bit of neodymium glass.  There seems two be two distinct colours near flourescent lights - your Greenish tinge and a clear pale blue.

Zelezny Brod Sklo did make neodymium glass and your piece looks as though in shape, that it 'could' come from them.
They might be worth searching for.

Many thanks for your replies. I have reached the same conclusion regarding Zelezny Brod Sklo. Still looking for the exact shape which is a bit unusual.
